Here are 5 ways to keep your desert road trip full of adventure while you wander.

1. Taste the land
Roaming the desert can be pretty, but you’re going to have to take a break eventually. If you’re driving through the outback, plan to stay at Ayer’s Rock Resort in Australia’s Red Centre. There, you can take a guided garden walk and experience a free cooking demonstration of native bush foods with a tasting of seasonal seeds, fruits, and spices. Sip champagne to the gorgeous view of Uluru, and relax knowing you’re in the spiritual heartland of Australia. At Harla, we have boho style resort wear with light and billowy summer dresses that perfectly suit the occasion and easily flow from day to night.

2. Visit Historic Hollywood Sites
Hollywood may be a world away, but some of it’s in our own backyard. Explore the red earthy scenes of the country in Broken Hill and Coober Pedy where Mad Max was filmed. In the mood for more action? Get your film fix under the stars at the Coober Pedy drive-in theatre.

3. Retreat Yourself
Whether you’re looking for a weekend getaway full of complete relaxation, or you’re just looking for a way to keep active, there’s plenty of options to work a little “om” into your trip. For a pampered, luxurious experience, try a weekend of meditation at the Desert Dreaming: Uluru and Kata Tjuta annual yoga retreat. If you’re short on time, set up a DIY yoga retreat. Bring your own mat and start your sun salutations when the sun sets and rises. Treat yourself with a massage at Spa Kinara at Longitude 131 or take a refreshing dip at the Dalhousie Springs outside of the Simpson Desert.

4. Stay The Night
Camping doesn’t have to look like Survivor. Rent a campervan and have a night over a bonfire, take advantage of your quiet oasis and get your best night’s sleep under the stars.
